Hello! I’m Juan Rafael Lenger Caballero, a Sophomore in the Honors College at the University of Massachusetts Boston, and I like to design things.
I want to be an engineer who creates and builds devices made to solve problems that are important. I like to design and create inventions with designing software, and to make them by 3D printing them as well as using other forms of fabrication. I can use Solidworks, Fusion 360, and 3D printers. I have had experience in Soft robotics, Augmented Reality, Designing, Robotics, Adobe Video Editing, and Python. I’m passionate about designing and building creations that can help overcome challenges. NASA MITTIC CompetitionMy team from the UMass Boston Robotics Club submitted and were selected as finalists in the NASA MITTIC Technology Transfer Competition where we presented the newest version of my glove invention, The Mechana-Gove!

Biogen Community Lab Video about my Glove Invention!
In 2020, I attended the Biotech In Action Virtual Summer Program dedicated to neurodegenerative diseases (such as Parkinson's). The program was jointly organized by the Biogen Community Lab and Lemelson-MIT, and fostered my determination to help others through engineering!
Given that the Biogen Community Lab is celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Alex Cameron, Biogen’s current Head of the Global Community Lab, kindly invited me to talk about my soft robotics glove project!

An engineering project is never truly finished, for it can always be updated or improved."
